Medford, Oregon – A sharp split in weather conditions will develop across Oregon on Tuesday, with soaking rain along the coast while inland areas face rising fire danger due to dry air and gusty winds.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, a system moving into the Pacific Northwest will bring widespread rain chances west of the Cascades through Tuesday night into early Wednesday. Coastal areas and communities like Coos Bay and Brookings could see between 0.25 and 0.50 inches of rain, with isolated totals nearing 0.75 inches.

Farther inland, the picture changes quickly. Medford and much of southern Oregon show only about a 7% chance of measurable rainfall, with even lower probabilities east of the Cascades, including Klamath Falls, where chances drop near zero.

Instead of rain, these inland areas will contend with breezy winds and low relative humidity, a combination that can dry fuels quickly and elevate wildfire risk. Northern California near the Oregon border faces similar conditions.

Residents in dry مناطق should avoid outdoor burning and secure equipment that could spark fires, while those along the coast should prepare for steady rainfall and slick الطرق.

This pattern will persist into early Wednesday morning, with additional updates possible as conditions evolve across the region.
