Wisconsin – Wind pushes across Lake Michigan this morning, rattling signs and whipping jackets as chilly air keeps Milwaukee locked in a raw start to spring.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will struggle to reach 41°F today. North winds between 10 and 20 mph will gust as high as 30 mph, making it feel closer to the upper 20s at times. A few light rain showers or sprinkles may pass through before mid-afternoon.
Across southeastern Wisconsin, including Waukesha, Racine, and Kenosha, conditions remain breezy and damp through early afternoon. Drivers along I-94 and I-43 should expect brief wet pavement and reduced comfort due to crosswinds, especially on elevated stretches.
Skies begin to clear later today, but colder air quickly settles in. Temperatures drop to around 26°F by early Monday morning. That setup raises concern for flash freezing in spots where moisture lingers. Bridges and overpasses will be the first to turn slick.
Monday brings sunshine but little warmth, with highs near 39°F. It stays quiet, though still cool for late March. A gradual warm-up arrives Tuesday, pushing highs into the low 50s with more cloud cover.
Midweek introduces another shift. Slight rain chances return Wednesday into Thursday, with highs climbing into the upper 40s and mid-50s. No major storms are expected, but conditions stay unsettled.
For now, bundle up and stay alert for icy patches during the early commute. Roads may look dry but refreeze quickly in shaded areas.
