South Carolina–North Carolina – Sunshine is already pushing temperatures upward across the Charlotte metro, and by midday it will feel more like early summer than the first stretch of spring.

According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, highs surge to around 86°F today with light southwest winds increasing slightly through the afternoon. Dry air and clear skies will allow temperatures to climb quickly across both Carolinas.

From Uptown Charlotte to I-77 and I-85 corridors, roads remain dry and visibility stays clear. Still, the heat may catch people off guard. If you’re heading out, hydrate and plan for warm pavement and sun glare during peak daylight hours.

The warmth lingers into Monday with highs near 80°F, but subtle changes begin. Winds shift and signal cooler air pushing in by late day.

By Tuesday, temperatures drop sharply to near 60°F. Morning lows fall into the low 40s across areas like Concord, Gastonia, and Rock Hill. That 25-degree swing could impact early commutes, especially with cooler air settling over still-warm surfaces.

Midweek stabilizes with highs in the upper 60s and partly sunny skies. Conditions stay quiet, offering a break from the rapid changes.

By Thursday and Friday, warmth builds again with highs nearing 80°F and low 80s returning. A slight rain chance appears late week, but most days remain dry.

This quick shift from heat to cool is classic early spring. Planning outdoor activities this week? Expect big temperature swings day to day.

Monday: High 80°F – Mostly sunny
Tuesday: High 60°F – Partly sunny
Wednesday: High 68°F – Partly sunny
Thursday: High 79°F – Mostly sunny
