Bangor, Maine – Roads across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and northern New York will become snow-covered by early Sunday morning, with up to 6 inches of accumulation and icy spots creating hazardous travel through the Monday commute.
According to the National Weather Service offices in Caribou, Gray, and Burlington, multiple Winter Weather Advisories are in effect starting as early as 11 p.m. Saturday in New Hampshire and 5 to 8 a.m. Sunday across Maine. Snow totals will generally range from 3 to 6 inches, with a light glaze of ice possible in parts of New Hampshire, Vermont, and the Adirondacks of New York.
In Maine, cities including Bangor, Augusta, Portland, and Bar Harbor will see steady snowfall develop Sunday morning, quickly coating untreated roads such as I-95, Route 1, and Route 9. Across New Hampshire, including Concord, Laconia, and Dover, a mix of snow and light ice will create slick side roads overnight into Sunday.
In Vermont and northern New York, including Montpelier, Stowe, and Lake Placid, the heaviest snow is expected between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday, making mountain travel especially difficult.
Drivers should slow down, allow extra travel time, and carry emergency supplies. Snow tapers early Monday, but icy patches may linger into the morning commute. Additional advisories remain possible.
