Lockport, NY – Two Niagara Falls men are facing charges following an alleged assault inside the Niagara County Correctional Facility earlier this spring, with court proceedings now set in Lockport.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the Criminal Investigation Bureau completed an investigation into an incident reported on March 24, 2026, at the jail in Lockport, located in Niagara County near the Buffalo metro area. Authorities say the investigation identified Brandon T. Carbone, 27, of Lewiston, and Dylan T. Brown, 30, of North Tonawanda, as suspects in the case.

Investigators allege that Carbone and Brown assaulted a 32-year-old male inmate from Niagara Falls while all parties were being held at the facility. Specific details about the circumstances of the incident have not been publicly released, but officials confirmed both individuals were taken into custody following the findings.

Carbone and Brown have each been charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree. According to law enforcement, the charges stem directly from the March incident inside the correctional facility.

Both men are scheduled to appear in the Town of Lockport Court at 9:00 a.m. on May 5, 2026, where the case will proceed through the legal system. Authorities emphasize that all charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office has not indicated whether additional charges or individuals may be involved as the case moves forward.
