Green Bay, Wisconsin – A sharp overnight change could create slick roads by early Sunday morning as rain transitions to a wintry mix across northeast Wisconsin.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, a cold front moving in late Saturday night will bring a 40 percent chance of rain and snow between roughly 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sunday. Temperatures will fall from Saturday highs in the 40s to mid-60s into the low to mid-30s by daybreak, creating conditions where wet roads could briefly turn slippery.
Communities including Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, and Sturgeon Bay may see light snow mixing with rain during the early morning hours. Bridges and overpasses along I-41 and Highway 172 are most at risk for patchy slick spots as colder air settles in first on elevated surfaces.
Drivers heading out early Sunday should allow extra travel time and watch for changing road conditions, especially in less-treated areas. Residents are encouraged to check vehicle readiness and monitor updates before traveling.
Conditions improve by late Sunday morning as precipitation tapers off, with drier and partly cloudy weather returning Monday. Additional updates may be issued if temperatures trend colder overnight.
