Raleigh, NC – Spring is off to a pleasant start across central North Carolina, bringing mild temperatures and mostly sunny skies for the first day of the new season.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh says highs will reach the low 70s across the region Friday, including around 73° in Raleigh, 72° in Greensboro, and 71° in Rocky Mount.

Skies will stay mostly sunny through much of the day, providing ideal conditions for outdoor plans.

Clouds are expected to increase later this afternoon and evening, with a slight chance of light rain developing overnight—mainly across the northern Piedmont and northern Coastal Plain.

Rain chances remain low and any showers are expected to be brief and light.

Temperatures tonight will stay mild, with lows in the low to mid-50s.

Overall, it’s a calm and comfortable start to spring across central North Carolina, with only minor chances for rain late in the day.
