Columbia, SC – A stretch of warm, almost summerlike weather is settling into South Carolina just in time for the first weekend of spring.
The National Weather Service in Columbia says temperatures will climb into the mid-70s on Friday before jumping well into the 80s for both Saturday and Sunday. Highs are expected to reach around 84–87° in Columbia, with similar warmth across the Midlands and eastern Georgia.
Cities like Augusta, Cheraw, and Bamberg will all see highs in the 80s this weekend under mostly sunny skies.
While much of the weekend stays dry, a stray shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out Saturday afternoon or evening. However, any activity is expected to be isolated and brief.
Overall, the forecast favors warm temperatures, light winds, and plenty of sunshine—ideal conditions for outdoor plans.
Residents should stay hydrated and be mindful of the unusually warm temperatures for mid-March, especially during peak afternoon hours.
