Philadelphia, PA – A mild and breezy Friday afternoon will quickly turn unsettled, with showers and a few thunderstorms expected to move in during the evening commute and continue into the night.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, temperatures will climb into the mid-60s across much of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware before clouds thicken through the afternoon. Rain is expected to develop between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., with isolated thunderstorms possible through midnight.
Cities including Philadelphia, Camden, Wilmington, and Trenton will see the steadiest rain during the evening hours, potentially reducing visibility and creating slick conditions on major roadways like I-95, I-76, and the New Jersey Turnpike. Gusty winds may accompany stronger cells, though widespread severe weather is not expected.
Farther inland toward Allentown and Reading, slightly cooler temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s may limit instability, but periods of steady rain are still likely.
Conditions briefly improve Saturday with slightly cooler but dry weather before another round of showers returns Sunday. Additional updates may be issued if storm coverage increases later tonight.
