Dallas, Texas – A surge of early-season heat could quickly push temperatures well above normal across Texas, with a late-period increase in rain chances bringing shifting conditions into early April.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the 8-to-14 day outlook from Friday, March 27 through Thursday, April 2 shows a strong signal for above-normal temperatures across the state, with some areas seeing a 60 to 70 percent likelihood of warmer-than-average conditions. This pattern supports a prolonged stretch of building heat.

In North Texas, including Dallas-Fort Worth, daytime highs may climb into the upper 80s and 90s, increasing heat exposure risks during peak afternoon hours. Outdoor activities may become more taxing, especially with consecutive warm days.

Central Texas, including Austin and San Antonio, is expected to see similar conditions with sustained warmth and limited early-period rainfall.

Across East and Southeast Texas, including Houston, moisture levels may begin to increase later in the period. This could bring scattered showers and thunderstorms, particularly during the latter half of the stretch, potentially impacting travel along I-10 and I-45.

While widespread severe weather is not the primary signal, any storms could produce brief heavy downpours and reduced visibility.

Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor exposure during peak heat, and remain alert for changing weather late in the period.

This pattern is expected to evolve into early April, with additional updates likely as rain chances and heat intensity become clearer.
