Greenville, South Carolina – A mild and dry afternoon is setting up across the Upstate today, but temperatures will drop quickly after sunset, bringing a cool night into early Friday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, highs will reach the low to mid-60s across much of the region, including Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and Asheville. Skies will remain mostly clear, allowing for steady warming through the afternoon hours.
The dry pattern extends across western North Carolina and northeast Georgia, making for favorable travel conditions along major routes like I-85 and I-26. With no rain expected, outdoor plans will see little disruption.
By late tonight, temperatures will fall into the mid-30s to near 40 degrees. Cooler pockets in mountain and rural areas could dip closer to freezing, especially in sheltered valleys.
Residents heading out early Friday should be prepared for the cooler start, with a light jacket needed during the morning commute.
A gradual warming trend continues into Friday, with highs returning to near normal levels. Dry conditions are expected to hold, with additional updates possible as temperatures continue to moderate.
