Wichita, KS – Unseasonably warm temperatures are expected across central and southern Kansas through Saturday, with highs climbing into the upper 80s and low 90s.
According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, a stretch of mostly clear skies and above-average temperatures will dominate the region over the next several days.
Highs on Thursday are forecast between 80 and 84 degrees, followed by 85 to 89 degrees on Friday. By Saturday, temperatures are expected to reach between 87 and 92 degrees across much of the area.
Overnight lows will also trend mild, generally ranging from the mid-40s to low-50s through the period.
The National Weather Service indicates this warming trend is well above seasonal averages for mid-March, signaling an early push of springlike—if not summerlike—conditions across Kansas.
Dry weather is expected to persist alongside the warming temperatures, with no significant precipitation highlighted in the short-term forecast.
The rapid warmup may impact outdoor plans, field work, and travel, as residents adjust to temperatures more typical of late spring or early summer.
