Minneapolis, MN – Gusty winds and below-normal temperatures are locking in a chilly weekend across Minnesota, with wind gusts reaching up to 30 mph and highs struggling to climb out of the 30s and 40s.

According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, breezy northwest winds will persist through Saturday and into Monday, creating cooler-than-average conditions across the state. Highs across Minneapolis, St. Paul, St. Cloud, and Mankato will generally range from the mid-30s to mid-40s through Sunday.

A few passing snow showers may develop late tonight, mainly across central and northern Minnesota, but no accumulation is expected. The primary impact will be the wind, which could make outdoor conditions feel significantly colder and affect travel on open roadways like I-94 and I-35.

Winds remain elevated into Monday before easing, while temperatures begin a steady rebound. By Tuesday and Wednesday, highs are expected to surge into the 60s and 70s, marking a sharp turnaround from the weekend chill.

Residents should secure loose outdoor items and dress in layers to handle fluctuating conditions. Additional updates may follow if snow shower coverage increases or winds strengthen further.
