Wisconsin – Water levels are creeping higher along riverbanks this morning, with muddy currents moving fast near Green Bay as recent rain continues to feed rising waterways.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, river flooding is ongoing across north-central and northeast Wisconsin, with major flooding reported along parts of the Wolf and Menominee Rivers. Flooding is expected to persist into early next week as runoff continues to move downstream.
In Green Bay and surrounding communities like De Pere and Marinette, standing water may develop near low-lying roads and river-adjacent neighborhoods. Drivers should avoid flooded routes and never attempt to cross water-covered pavement. Conditions can change quickly, especially near smaller creeks feeding into larger rivers.
A brief break in steady rain develops later today, but colder air moves in behind the system. Temperatures drop sharply by early Sunday morning, reaching near 32°F. Patchy frost and even a few flurries may mix in, especially north of the city. Watch for slick spots during early travel hours as moisture refreezes.
By Monday, sunshine returns with highs near 50°F, offering some relief. That said, rivers will remain elevated even as skies clear. A stronger warm-up arrives Tuesday with highs climbing into the mid-60s, signaling a return to more typical spring conditions.
Looking ahead, another round of showers is possible by Thursday, which could slow any river recovery.
