Tinley Park, Illinois – A 26-year-old man faces charges after alleged incidents at two Tinley Park stores prompted a police investigation.

According to the Village of Tinley Park Public Safety, Cameron Jernigan, of Richton Park, was charged with aggravated battery after allegedly making unwanted contact with a woman at about 5 p.m. Friday, April 3, inside Target, 7300 W. 191st St.

Police said the contact involved an unknown substance being placed on the woman’s clothing while she was shopping. During the investigation, officers learned Jernigan allegedly made similar unwanted contact with two additional women—one inside the same Target and another at Ross Dress for Less, 7290 W. 191st St.

Authorities said the identities of the two additional women are unknown because they did not file reports. Investigators believe those individuals may not have realized anything had been placed on them at the time.

Police are asking anyone who may have had contact with the suspect while shopping at either store around 5 p.m. April 3 to come forward. Individuals can contact the Tinley Park Police Department at (708) 444-5300 and ask to speak with Officer Manzella, referencing case #26-01499.

Jernigan is scheduled to appear at the Will County Courthouse on Monday, April 27, 2026.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police said additional victims may still be identified.

For local shoppers and retail workers, the case highlights the importance of reporting suspicious activity in busy stores.
