Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Chilly air is locking temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s today, keeping conditions brisk across the region before a noticeable warm-up begins within the next 24 hours.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, high temperatures Wednesday will top out between 38°F and 42°F across southeastern Pennsylvania, South Jersey, and Delaware, with variable cloud cover throughout the day. Cities including Philadelphia, Trenton, and Wilmington will remain dry but cool through the evening.
Temperatures begin climbing Thursday as a moderating trend takes hold, pushing highs into the upper 40s and 50s across the region. This warming pattern continues into Friday, setting the stage for the next weather system.
By Friday night, rain is expected to develop, potentially impacting travel along I-95, the Schuylkill Expressway, and the New Jersey Turnpike. While no severe impacts are anticipated, wet roads and reduced visibility could slow the evening commute.
Another round of showers may return late Sunday into Sunday night as the milder pattern holds in place.
Residents should dress in layers for chilly mornings and prepare for wet conditions heading into Friday night. Additional updates are likely as rain timing becomes more precise.
