Clarkton, Mo. – A confirmed tornado carved a nearly 3-mile path through Dunklin County Sunday evening, bringing 85 mph winds directly across the Clarkton area in a brief but impactful six-minute window.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, the EF-0 tornado touched down at 6:44 p.m. and lifted by 6:50 p.m., tracking 2.94 miles with a maximum width of 75 yards. The storm moved near Highway 162 and crossed portions of Clarkton, impacting areas between Dunklin and New Madrid counties.

Despite the strength of the winds, no injuries or fatalities were reported. Damage surveys indicate localized impacts consistent with EF-0 intensity, including minor structural damage and debris scattered along the path.

The tornado was one of multiple confirmed across the region during Sunday’s severe weather outbreak, underscoring the արագ escalation of storm conditions across southeast Missouri.
