Minneapolis, MN – Snow is continuing to fall across the Twin Cities this evening, with slick roads developing now and expected to persist through midnight as up to 2 inches accumulates.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, light snow showers will move east across the metro through late evening before tapering off after midnight. Total accumulation will range from 1 to 2 inches, enough to create slippery conditions on untreated roads, especially along I-94, I-35W, and Highway 62.

The immediate concern is reduced traction during the evening drive, but conditions may shift again by early Wednesday morning as temperatures rise and melting begins. That melting snow could lead to areas of fog overnight into early Wednesday, lowering visibility for the morning commute.

Cities including Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, and Maple Grove will see improving conditions by Wednesday afternoon as highs climb into the 40s. The warming trend continues through the week, with temperatures reaching the 50s Friday and surging into the 60s to near 70°F by Saturday.

Drivers should use caution tonight, reduce speeds, and remain alert for changing visibility overnight. Snow ends after midnight, but fog and wet roads could create new hazards by sunrise Wednesday.
