Fort Wayne, Ind. – Light snow arriving before sunrise Wednesday could create slick roads during the early commute, especially along major corridors west of I-69.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, snow will begin before daybreak and continue through early Wednesday afternoon, with totals up to 1 inch possible. The highest amounts are expected west of I-69, including areas near South Bend, Warsaw, and Plymouth, where untreated roads may become briefly snow-covered.

Drivers across Fort Wayne, Elkhart, and Goshen should plan for reduced visibility and minor accumulation during the morning hours. Key routes like US-30 and I-69 could see slower travel speeds, particularly between 6 a.m. and noon.

Conditions improve by mid-afternoon as temperatures rise into the upper 30s and low 40s, helping melt any lingering snow. A secondary system brings light rain chances Thursday, but no significant impacts are expected.

A steady warmup follows, with highs reaching the 60s by Friday and climbing into the upper 60s to low 70s by the weekend. Additional updates may be issued if snowfall trends increase early Wednesday.
