TINLEY PARK, Ill. — An off-duty Chicago police officer tragically lost his life early Saturday morning in a traffic collision at the intersection of 179th Street and LaGrange Road in Tinley Park.
Village officials confirmed that both involved drivers were initially taken to Silver Cross Hospital, where the officer was subsequently pronounced deceased. The second driver was later transferred to Loyola University Medical Center to receive further treatment for injuries sustained in the accident. As of now, the condition of the second driver remains undisclosed.
The Tinley Park Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
