Louisville, Ky. – A surge of unseasonable warmth is set to spread across Kentucky, giving spring break travel a major boost with dry roads and temperatures climbing well above late-March averages.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, Kentucky will see temperatures running 30 to 50 percent above normal from March 24 through March 30, while precipitation remains near normal but limited in overall impact. This pattern favors extended sunshine and only brief, isolated rain chances.

Across Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, and northern Kentucky, daytime highs are expected to reach the upper 60s to low 70s, with mild mornings in the 40s and low 50s. Major corridors including I-64, I-65, and I-75 are expected to remain mostly dry, supporting smooth travel statewide.

Drivers should remain aware of patchy morning fog, especially in river valleys and rural areas, but widespread hazards are not expected. The warmer pattern will help keep roads dry and visibility generally high through most of the period.

For baseball fans across Kentucky, including those following the Reds and regional teams, the opening stretch of the season should feature comfortable conditions, with lighter layers more than sufficient.

This warm pattern is expected to hold through late March, with only minor system changes possible heading into early April.
