Ohio – Wind rattles street signs and pushes mist across roads this morning as colder air sweeps into southwest Ohio. Drivers around Wilmington may notice reduced visibility and slick pavement as rain transitions toward snow showers through the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. across portions of west-central and southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky, and southeast Indiana. Southwest winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph may continue through the morning before slowly easing later in the day.

Scattered rain showers will gradually mix with snow showers late this morning into the afternoon, especially across Clinton County and nearby communities including Xenia, Washington Court House, and Hillsboro. Visibility may briefly drop during heavier bursts of snow.

Travelers along Interstate 71, U.S. Route 68, and State Route 73 should prepare for sudden wind gusts and shifting precipitation. Wet pavement may develop slick spots toward sunset as temperatures drop.

Meteorologists note that light snow accumulation is possible on grassy and elevated surfaces, though most main roads will remain mainly wet during daylight hours.

The bigger story arrives midweek as temperatures slowly rebound. After a chilly stretch with highs near 29°F Tuesday, the region begins warming again.

By Wednesday afternoon, temperatures reach the low 40s with a slight chance of snow showers, before a stronger spring rebound develops later in the week. Sunshine and milder air return by Thursday as highs climb toward the upper 50s, signaling the first real push of spring warmth.

For now, secure loose outdoor items and drive carefully during snow bursts today. Gusty winds can also bring down small tree limbs and cause isolated power outages.

Additional updates could be issued if snow bands briefly intensify across southwest Ohio.
