Spartanburg, SC – Drivers across Spartanburg and the Upstate could encounter wet roads early Monday as showers and thunderstorms move into the region overnight Sunday and linger through the start of the workweek.
Saturday remains bright and warm with sunny skies pushing temperatures to around 73°F across Spartanburg County. Light winds and dry conditions should make for a quiet day across the Upstate.
According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, clouds increase Sunday with scattered showers developing after noon as temperatures climb to around 71°F. Rain becomes more widespread Sunday night, with showers and possible thunderstorms developing after sunset.
Periods of rain continue Monday with temperatures reaching around 67°F. Southerly winds may gust up to 30 mph, and rainfall totals between 0.10 and 0.25 inches could create wet travel along major corridors including Interstate 26, Interstate 85, and U.S. Highway 29.
Showers gradually taper Monday afternoon as the storm system moves east. Cooler air follows Monday night with clearing skies and temperatures dropping to around 28°F.
Sunny weather returns Tuesday with highs near 46°F, followed by quieter conditions across the Spartanburg region through midweek. Additional updates may be issued if thunderstorms strengthen Sunday night across the Upstate.
