Boston, MA – Drivers across Boston could encounter slick highways and powerful wind gusts Monday night as steady rain and strengthening winds move into eastern Massachusetts ahead of the Tuesday morning commute.

Saturday stays mostly cloudy with breezy conditions across Suffolk County and the Greater Boston region. Afternoon wind gusts could reach up to 39 mph, while temperatures top out near 45°F.

According to the National Weather Service in Norton, the next system arrives after 4 a.m. Monday with scattered rain before steadier rainfall develops through the day. Temperatures climb to around 62°F, unusually mild for mid-March, while southerly winds increase through the afternoon.

Conditions worsen Monday night as heavier rain and strong winds intensify. Gusts could reach as high as 49 mph, which may slow travel on key corridors including I-93, the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90), and Route 1. Periods of rain could also reduce visibility near Logan Airport and along the harbor.

Rain begins tapering early Tuesday morning before skies gradually improve later in the day. Temperatures fall back toward 50°F Tuesday afternoon, followed by clearing and cooler overnight conditions.

Drier weather returns Wednesday with sunshine and highs near 40°F, though additional advisories could be issued if winds strengthen further Monday night.
