Corpus Christi, TX – South Texas residents could experience a dramatic temperature swing as near-100°F heat Sunday gives way to a sharp cooldown and strong winds by Monday morning when a cold front sweeps through the Coastal Bend.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, temperatures will climb rapidly Sunday under sunny skies, with highs reaching between 86°F and 99°F across the region. The warmest readings are expected inland, while coastal communities remain slightly cooler due to Gulf breezes.

Cities including Corpus Christi, Kingsville, Alice, and Rockport could see unusually warm mid-March conditions during the afternoon, especially along U.S. Highway 77, State Highway 44, and Interstate 37 where heat and sunshine dominate the day.

Conditions shift late Sunday night as a cold front moves through South Texas. Behind the front, strong winds will develop Monday, bringing noticeably cooler air into the region.

Daytime highs Monday are expected to drop sharply into the upper 50s to mid-60s, nearly 30 to 40 degrees cooler than Sunday afternoon in some locations. Gusty conditions may impact drivers on exposed coastal roadways and bridges.

Residents should prepare for a rapid temperature change and breezy conditions early Monday. Additional wind advisories could be issued as the front moves through the Coastal Bend.
