San Francisco, CA – A rapid warm-up is underway across the San Francisco Bay Area, with temperatures expected to climb from the mid-70s Saturday to the mid-80s by Tuesday, bringing the warmest stretch of weather the region has seen in weeks.

According to the National Weather Service Bay Area office, clear skies and a strengthening ridge of high pressure will allow temperatures to steadily rise through the weekend and into early next week. Highs in downtown San Francisco should reach around 74°F Saturday, warming to near 78°F Sunday before jumping to about 84°F Monday and near 86°F Tuesday.

The warming trend will be even more noticeable inland. Cities including San Jose, Santa Clara, and Livermore could approach record March temperatures, with San Jose already tied to an 89°F March record that may be challenged if the ridge strengthens further.

Light winds across the Bay Area will keep conditions comfortable near the coast, but inland valleys could see noticeably warmer afternoons. Commuters along Highway 101, Interstate 280, and Interstate 880 may experience warmer-than-usual conditions during afternoon travel.

Residents should stay hydrated during outdoor activities and be mindful of rapidly warming temperatures, especially in inland communities where heat builds faster.
