Florida – Warm air already hangs over Tallahassee this morning while thin fog drifts across quiet roads and neighborhoods. Headlights glow faintly along I-10 and Apalachee Parkway as drivers move through patchy haze.

Temperatures are sitting in the mid-60s early today, but the warming trend is already underway. Sunshine quickly builds through the morning, pushing afternoon highs close to 81 degrees across Tallahassee and Leon County.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, mostly sunny skies dominate today with light southeast winds around 5 to 10 mph. The calm conditions and humid air will allow dense fog pockets to redevelop late tonight and early Sunday, especially in low-lying areas.

Drivers should stay alert near lakes, wooded roads, and rural highways where visibility can drop suddenly. That includes stretches of Interstate 10 and U.S. 27, where patchy fog may form before sunrise Sunday. Use low beams and increase following distance.

Sunday continues the warm pattern. Morning fog burns off quickly, leaving partly sunny skies and highs climbing into the mid-80s across the Tallahassee metro area.

Spring warmth continues into early next week. Monday holds near 84 degrees with partial sunshine, while Tuesday peaks even higher near 86 degrees, bringing one of the warmest stretches of the season so far.

Residents should also remember the time change early Sunday morning. Clocks move forward one hour at 2 a.m., giving North Florida longer daylight evenings as spring approaches.

Long-range outlooks show above-normal temperatures spreading across the Southeast through midweek and beyond. Meteorologists say this early-March warm spell could hint at an active spring pattern ahead.
