Ohio – Fog drifts across Cleveland’s lakefront this morning, softening the skyline while damp pavement reflects the early light. Drivers along the shore and downtown corridors are navigating pockets of mist as mild March air settles over northeast Ohio.

Visibility may drop briefly along I-90, I-71, and the Shoreway, especially near Lake Erie where fog tends to linger longer.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, patchy fog continues early this morning before gradually thinning. Clouds will give way to brighter skies through midday as temperatures climb to around 65 degrees across Cuyahoga County.

That warmth is well above typical early-March levels. A slight chance of rain develops later today, though many neighborhoods will remain dry through much of the afternoon.

Conditions change quickly heading into the weekend. Meteorologists are tracking a stronger system that will bring widespread rain and thunderstorms Saturday, with precipitation chances climbing to near 100 percent.

Steady rain and occasional downpours could slow traffic across the Cleveland metro area. Plan extra time if traveling along regional highways Saturday morning or afternoon.

Skies begin clearing by Sunday across northeast Ohio. Temperatures cool slightly but remain comfortable, with highs around 55 degrees and lighter winds returning.

Early Sunday morning also marks the return of Daylight Saving Time, when clocks jump forward one hour at 2 a.m. The shift brings noticeably longer daylight into evening hours across Ohio.

Sunshine returns Monday as temperatures rebound near 66 degrees, continuing a broader warming trend developing across much of the eastern United States.

Meteorologists note that rapid spring temperature swings sometimes lead to flash freezing on bridges after sunset if moisture remains on road surfaces.
