Las Vegas, Nevada – Gusty winds are expected to continue across southern Nevada through Saturday, creating hazardous travel conditions and areas of blowing dust.

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Wind Advisory through Saturday evening, with north winds capable of gusting between 40 and 50 mph at times across parts of the region.

Communities including Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, Pahrump, and Laughlin may experience the strongest winds as the system moves through southern Nevada.

Meteorologists say the winds may produce blowing dust, strong crosswinds, and hazardous boating conditions on area lakes.

Drivers traveling along major routes such as Interstate 15, Interstate 40, and U.S. Highway 395 could encounter difficult driving conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles like trucks, RVs, and trailers.

Transportation officials warn that sudden gusts may push vehicles sideways, particularly in open desert areas where winds can accelerate.

Blowing dust could also reduce visibility in some areas, making travel more challenging during the strongest wind periods.

In addition to travel concerns, loose outdoor items such as trash cans, patio furniture, and decorations could be blown around by strong gusts.

Boaters are also urged to use caution as strong winds may create rough and dangerous conditions on lakes such as Lake Mead and Lake Mohave.

Forecasters say winds will remain gusty at times through Saturday before gradually easing later in the weekend.

Residents are encouraged to secure loose objects, use caution while driving, and stay updated on weather advisories while the windy conditions persist.
