Tampa, Florida – Above-normal temperatures will continue across west-central Florida through the weekend, with some areas approaching 90 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay, afternoon highs across the region will remain well above seasonal averages through early next week, particularly across inland communities.

Cities including Tampa, Lakeland, Sarasota, and Brooksville could see daily highs in the mid- to upper-80s, with some interior areas approaching 90 degrees during the afternoon hours.

While much of the weekend will feature sunshine, isolated to scattered showers may develop each afternoon, mainly during the peak heating hours.

Forecasters say the rain chances remain relatively low, with roughly 10% to 40% chances of showers depending on the day.

On Friday and Saturday, patchy morning fog may develop in some inland areas before skies become mostly sunny by midday.

Afternoon showers could briefly affect travel along major routes including Interstate 4, Interstate 75, and U.S. Highway 41, though widespread rain is not expected.

Overnight temperatures will remain mild, with lows generally falling into the upper 50s to upper 60s across the region.

By Sunday, conditions will remain warm with sunshine dominating much of the day, although a few isolated afternoon showers remain possible.

The warming trend will likely continue into Monday, when many locations across west-central and southwest Florida may again see highs near 90 degrees.

Residents spending time outdoors this weekend should remain aware of the above-normal warmth during the afternoon hours, particularly for outdoor workers, beachgoers, and weekend events.

Commuters may also encounter brief showers or fog early in the day, though overall travel impacts are expected to remain limited.
