Arkansas sits under a thick blanket of clouds late this morning, and light showers are leaving a sheen on I-30 and I-40 through the Little Rock metro. It’s 50 degrees at Adams Field, and damp pavement is slowing traffic in pockets across Pulaski County.

According to the National Weather Service in North Little Rock, rain chances remain near 40% through late morning, with highs reaching 68 degrees. Winds stay light from the east around 5 mph. While rainfall amounts remain under a tenth of an inch, brief showers may reduce visibility and create slick spots on elevated ramps.

Clouds hold into tonight with lows near 53 degrees. Tuesday brings a noticeable March warm-up. Skies turn partly sunny, and highs climb to 79 degrees. South winds increase to 10 mph, with gusts near 20 mph by afternoon. The air will feel more like mid-April than early March.

By Wednesday, a slight 20% chance of showers develops after 3 p.m., with highs again near 79 degrees. Storm chances ramp up Wednesday night, with rain probabilities increasing to 70%. Thunderstorms become likely at times, and pockets of heavier rain could impact the late commute into early Thursday.

Thursday keeps rain chances elevated near 60%, with highs near 78 degrees. Expect changing conditions through the day. Plan extra time if traveling during downpours.

We gain nearly 70 minutes of daylight this month, and clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday. Early 6–10 day trends favor above-normal temperatures into next week.
