Ohio – A sharp chill hangs over the Ohio River this morning, and frost clings to parked cars as March begins with a late-winter bite. Temperatures sit near 31 degrees at Lunken Airport, and slick patches remain possible on untreated bridges.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, dry air holds through today with highs near 46 under mostly sunny skies. Clouds increase tonight, and snow develops after 4 a.m. Monday. A wintry mix is possible before 10 a.m., then snow and sleet may linger into early afternoon. Less than 1 inch of accumulation is expected, but timing matters. The Monday morning commute could turn slushy on I-71, I-75, and the Brent Spence Bridge.

Plan extra travel time Monday morning. Even light snow at 32 degrees can coat overpasses quickly. This is prime flash-freeze season. Melting during the day can refreeze on shaded pavement by evening if temperatures dip.

Rain takes over Monday night and continues Tuesday. Highs jump to 61 Tuesday, then 69 Wednesday, and 71 by Thursday. Periods of rain are likely through midweek, with several rounds possibly leading to ponding on low-lying roads. Keep drains clear and watch for reduced visibility during heavier showers.

The bigger shift arrives late week. A warming trend builds into the first full week of March, with highs pushing the 70s. We gain nearly 70 minutes of daylight this month, and clocks spring forward at 2 a.m. next Sunday, March 8. Spring warmth is knocking, even if snowflakes fly first.

Five Day Outlook for Cincinnati, Ohio:
Monday: Snow and wintry mix early, then rain, high 45.
Tuesday: Rain, high 61.
Wednesday: Rain likely, high 69.
Thursday: Rain likely, high 71.
Friday: Chance of rain, high 74.
