Nashville, TN– Warm, springlike air will hold across Tennessee through the weekend, but rain chances begin to creep back into the picture by Sunday night, setting up a wetter stretch for parts of the state early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, highs will stay in the 60s and 70s across much of Middle Tennessee through Sunday, with only a slight dip behind a weak front Monday. Rain chances increase late Sunday night and continue at times through midweek, though widespread heavy rainfall is not expected at this point.

Across the state, drivers from Memphis to Knoxville can expect dry roads through most of Sunday. By Sunday night, scattered showers may develop along Interstate 40 and spread east toward the Cumberland Plateau. In Nashville, afternoon highs will top out in the upper 60s Sunday before cooler air settles in Monday with highs in the upper 50s to near 60. Lows will drop into the 40s, especially in outlying areas like Clarksville and Murfreesboro.

Commuters should stay alert for slick spots during morning drives Monday and again midweek as additional rounds of showers develop. Keep devices charged and allow extra travel time during rain.

Mild temperatures persist through Friday, with additional updates likely as rain chances evolve.
