Los Angeles County, California – Saturday — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced increased patrols across the county following escalating military activity in the Middle East, emphasizing that no credible threats have been identified locally.
In a public statement, the department said it is closely monitoring the evolving situation overseas and coordinating with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to assess any potential impacts on Los Angeles County.
“At this time, there are no known credible threats to our community,” the department stated. However, out of an abundance of caution — and in recognition of ongoing religious observances — deputies have increased patrols around houses of worship, cultural institutions, and other prominent public locations.
Officials said deployment plans have been proactively reviewed, coordination among patrol stations has been enhanced, and additional resources are available if needed. The department described the measures as precautionary and part of its ongoing commitment to preparedness and public safety.
The Sheriff’s Department also reaffirmed that it respects individuals’ First Amendment rights, asking that any demonstrations be conducted peacefully and lawfully with consideration for public safety.
Authorities encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to local law enforcement. “If you see something, say something,” the statement concluded.
Further updates will be provided if conditions change.
