Washington wakes up to a sharp late winter bite in Spokane this morning, where temperatures hover near 28 degrees under clear skies. Frost coats rooftops, and shaded sidewalks feel slick in spots. With calm winds and high humidity, some neighborhoods could see brief icy patches early.

Sunshine strengthens quickly, pushing highs near 51 degrees this afternoon. Calm conditions make it feel milder by midday. If you’re driving along I-90 or U.S. 2, roads remain dry through the day.

Tonight turns partly cloudy with lows near 30 degrees. That sets up another chilly start before a gradual warmup Sunday. Highs reach 52 under mostly sunny skies as March begins tomorrow. Monday climbs even higher to around 54 with full sunshine, offering a noticeable spring tease.

Changes arrive Tuesday. Clouds increase with a 30 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. Snow levels hover near 4,100 feet before rising to about 4,900 feet. Rain becomes likely Tuesday night with lows near 40 degrees.

Wednesday brings steadier rain, mainly before 4 p.m., with an 80 percent chance of precipitation. Snow levels drop from around 4,300 feet to near 3,300 feet after midnight. While valley snow is not expected, higher terrain could see light accumulation. Drivers heading into mountain passes should monitor conditions closely.

This time of year also raises flash-freezing concerns. Wet pavement can refreeze quickly after sunset if temperatures dip near freezing.

The 6–10 day outlook hints at slightly above-normal temperatures developing late next week, signaling gradual spring warmth ahead.

Daylight Saving Time begins March 8 at 2 a.m., bringing brighter evenings soon.
