Nevada–California Weather Alert Today: Reno Warms to 68° Before I-80 Rain Chance

Nevada – Bright sun spills over the Truckee Meadows this morning, and the chill in the air is already giving way to a fast warmup. Reno is headed for a high near 68 degrees today, a noticeable Spring Tease to close out February.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, skies stay mostly sunny with calm winds. Temperatures fall to around 44 tonight as clouds begin to increase. Saturday brings a 20 percent chance of showers and even a slight chance of thunderstorms after 10 a.m., though much of the day trends partly sunny with highs near 69.

Changes build Sunday. A 20 percent chance of rain develops after 10 a.m. under mostly cloudy skies, with highs cooling to around 62. By Sunday night, rain chances increase to 30 percent. Snow levels start near 7,500 feet and lower to around 6,900 feet after midnight. While valley snow is not expected, Sierra passes along Interstate 80 could see wet snow at higher elevations.

Monday turns cooler with a high near 55 and a 20 percent chance of showers. Snow levels drop closer to 6,300 feet. Roads over Donner Summit may turn slick during heavier bursts.

Tuesday dries out with sunshine and highs near 62 as March begins. The 6–10 day outlook favors a gradual warming trend next week, reinforcing early Spring Warmth across western Nevada.
