Tampa, FL – Rain chances up to 70% could affect Tampa roads Friday and Saturday.
According to the US National Weather Service Tampa Bay, a warming trend will begin midweek before scattered showers move into the region at the end of the workweek. The five-day outlook shows dry and sunny conditions Wednesday with highs between 67 and 76 degrees, followed by mostly sunny skies Thursday with highs warming into the 75 to 83 degree range.
Rain chances increase Friday, with mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers possible. High temperatures are forecast between 79 and 87 degrees, with rain probabilities ranging from 20% to 60%. Shower coverage expands Saturday, when rain chances rise to 40% to 70% and highs range from 76 to 83 degrees.
By Sunday, conditions turn partly cloudy with rain chances dropping back to 0%. Highs are expected between 79 and 84 degrees.
The National Weather Service described the late-week rainfall as beneficial, though periods of showers could create slick stretches along major corridors including I-275, I-4, US-19 and I-75. Commuters heading into downtown Tampa or across the Howard Frankland Bridge may experience slower travel during heavier showers.
Drivers, students and weekend event-goers are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts as timing and coverage of rainfall becomes clearer later this week.
