Texas is already feeling the push of strong southerly winds as palm trees sway and loose patio chairs rattle across Houston this morning. Temperatures sit near 62 degrees at Hobby Airport, but it’s the wind that commands attention.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 9 AM to 6 PM. South winds between 15 and 25 mph will gust as high as 30 to 35 mph. Driving may become difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles along I-45, I-10, and the Gulf Freeway. Secure outdoor decorations and trash bins now.

Despite the wind, warmth builds quickly. Highs reach near 80 degrees this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Gusts could top 30 mph at times, adding a blustery edge to an otherwise springlike day.

Skies remain partly cloudy tonight with lows near 67. Winds stay elevated through the evening before gradually easing. Thursday turns even warmer, with highs near 86 degrees under mostly sunny skies. That’s a pronounced spring tease for late February.

Patchy fog may develop late Thursday night into early Friday. By Friday afternoon, sunshine returns with highs near 81. The weekend stays warm and bright. Saturday reaches 81 under full sun, while Sunday holds near 80 with mostly sunny skies. A slight chance of showers arrives Sunday night.

Early next week continues the above-normal temperature trend. Highs remain near 80 into Monday, with a small rain chance by Tuesday.
