Paducah, Kentucky – Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 60s by Saturday along I-24, with light showers possible tonight into Thursday before more unsettled weather returns early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, relatively warm conditions are expected through the end of the week as passing high clouds move across western Kentucky, southern Illinois and southeast Missouri.

A few showers are possible tonight into Thursday, but forecasters say rainfall amounts are expected to remain light. Thursday carries around a 20 percent chance of showers before skies trend mostly sunny later in the day.

High temperatures will reach the mid-50s Wednesday and Thursday, then rise into the mid-60s Friday. Saturday is forecast to peak near 67 degrees under mostly sunny skies, marking the warmest day of the stretch.

Primary travel corridors including Interstate 24, Interstate 57, US-45 and US-60 are expected to remain largely dry, aside from brief wet pavement during passing showers late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

By Sunday and Monday, shower chances increase again as a more unsettled pattern develops. Highs are expected to fall back into the lower to mid-50s early next week.

Forecasters note that while rainfall totals appear minimal in the short term, changing temperatures and intermittent precipitation could impact early morning commuters if wet roads coincide with cooler overnight lows.

Students, commuters and delivery drivers should monitor updated forecasts heading into the weekend as the next system approaches.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed through the National Weather Service Paducah office for forecast updates.
