Oregon’s largest city is waking up damp and gray, with light rain and mist hanging over Portland’s skyline. Streets along I-5 and U.S. 26 glisten under low clouds, and visibility has dipped at times early this morning. If you’re commuting, expect slick pavement and slower travel through late morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Portland, rain continues into the afternoon with highs near 49 degrees. Precipitation chances remain around 80 percent today. Light north winds near 5 mph will shift later, but steady moisture keeps roads wet.

Showers linger into tonight before tapering. By Wednesday, scattered rain develops again, mainly before midday, with highs climbing to near 52 degrees. Snow levels hover near 2,000 feet early, rising later in the day. That keeps valley floors rain-only, but higher Coast Range and Cascade passes could see light snow.

Clearer skies Wednesday night allow temperatures to drop to around 35 degrees. Patchy frost may form before sunrise Thursday. Any leftover moisture on bridges and overpasses could refreeze, creating isolated icy spots. This is the time of year when flash freezing catches drivers off guard.

Thursday brings partial sunshine and highs near 53. Friday trends milder with highs in the mid-50s and only a slight rain chance. The weekend looks seasonably cool but gradually brighter.

Looking ahead, the 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal temperatures across western Oregon. Subtle hints of Spring Warmth may build into early next week.
