Wisconsin wakes up to light snow drifting across Green Bay, and roads are already turning slick in spots. The air feels biting at 20°F, with wind chills near 9°F. Snowflakes swirl past streetlights, and visibility can drop quickly in heavier bursts.

The National Weather Service in Green Bay reports snow continuing through this afternoon. Total accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible in the city, with higher totals north of Highway 8 and across Door County. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for those areas through mid-afternoon.

South winds increase to 16 mph, with gusts up to 34 mph. That breeze may cause brief blowing snow and reduced visibility on U.S. 41 and I-43. Plan extra time if traveling, especially across bridges and open stretches near the bay.

Snow tapers later today, but slick spots may linger into the evening as temperatures fall to around 13°F. Any melting could refreeze quickly, creating a flash freeze risk after sunset.

Wednesday brings a break with mostly sunny skies and a high near 24°F. Wednesday night turns colder, dropping to around 10°F. Thursday stays partly sunny with highs near 32°F and only a slight chance of afternoon snow.

A bigger warm-up arrives Friday. Highs surge to near 49°F under mostly sunny skies, offering a taste of early spring across northeast Wisconsin. That milder trend may continue into early next week, with above-normal temperatures hinted in the 6- to 10-day outlook.

Still, scattered snow chances return Saturday and again late Sunday into Monday.
