Altoona, Pennsylvania – The heavier snow threat has eased, but slick roads and gusty winds will continue to impact central and north central Pennsylvania through 1 p.m. Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in State College, a Winter Storm Warning has been canceled for Bedford, Blair and Clearfield counties and replaced with a Winter Weather Advisory. An additional 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected overnight into Monday morning, with wind gusts up to 40 mph in the south and 35 mph farther north.
Much of the accumulation will occur overnight before tapering late Monday morning. Higher terrain in Blair County and across the northern mountains, including McKean, Potter, Elk, Cameron and Tioga counties, could see locally higher totals.
Snow-covered secondary roads, bridges and untreated surfaces may become slick before sunrise, affecting the Monday morning commute in Altoona, DuBois, Clearfield, Williamsport and Bradford. Blowing snow could briefly reduce visibility along Interstate 99, Route 220 and sections of U.S. 322.
Drivers should slow down, increase following distance and check 511 for updated road conditions. The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. Monday, and additional updates are possible if conditions change overnight.
