Meadville, Pennsylvania – Roads across Crawford County could turn slick late Sunday night as lake-effect snow develops after 10 p.m., creating hazardous travel through early Tuesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Tuesday for Crawford County. Snow totals between 2 and 5 inches are expected, with periods of moderate snowfall possible late tonight and again Monday as lake-enhanced bands organize.
Light snow during the day Sunday will have limited impact, but conditions will deteriorate overnight. I-79 near Meadville and Route 6 toward Titusville may become snow-covered, especially during heavier bursts. Reduced visibility and slippery pavement could slow travel during the Monday morning and evening commutes.
PennDOT officials encourage motorists to delay unnecessary travel and monitor 511PA for updated road and traffic conditions. Drivers should reduce speed, increase following distance and remain alert for sudden changes in visibility.
Snow showers will gradually taper by early Tuesday morning, though isolated slick spots could linger where snow bands persist the longest.
