Pennsylvania greets the morning with light snow drifting across Pittsburgh and a sharp chill in the air. At 29 degrees, flakes mix with mist and lightly coat grassy areas. Roads remain mainly wet for now, but colder air keeps surfaces vulnerable to slick spots.
According to the National Weather Service, snow is likely through the day with highs near 38 degrees. Additional accumulation should stay under a half inch, but bursts of steady snow may briefly reduce visibility. Light northwest winds increase later, adding a brisk feel to the afternoon.
Drivers along I-376, I-279 and Route 28 should allow extra time, especially on bridges and overpasses. Pavement temperatures hover near freezing, and untreated surfaces could turn slushy. As temperatures dip back into the upper 20s tonight, flash freezing becomes a concern where melting occurs during daylight hours.
Snow chances linger into Monday with another light accumulation possible before tapering. Monday night drops to around 18 degrees, locking in any moisture left behind. Tuesday, February 24th turns partly sunny with highs in the mid-30s.
By Wednesday, milder air pushes in with highs near 45 and a chance of rain mixing with snow early. Late week trends much warmer. Highs climb into the 40s Friday and surge toward the upper 50s by Saturday, signaling early spring warmth in the 6–10 day outlook.
