Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – Snow will continue to spread across southwest Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia through Monday night, creating slick roads and hazardous travel before both Monday commutes.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday for Jefferson, Indiana, Westmoreland and Fayette counties in Pennsylvania, along with Marion and Monongalia counties in West Virginia. Total snowfall between 2 and 5 inches is expected across the region.

Communities including Greensburg, Latrobe, Indiana, Uniontown, Morgantown and Fairmont may see snow-covered roads, especially on untreated secondary routes. Major corridors such as U.S. 119, U.S. 22 and Interstate 79 could become slick overnight and again during heavier bursts Monday. Temperatures hovering near freezing may allow snow to stick quickly, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

The advisory highlights impacts to both the Monday morning and evening commutes as steady snow continues at times. Drivers should reduce speed, allow extra stopping distance and check 511PA or WV 511 for real-time road conditions before heading out.

Snow showers taper late Monday night, but patchy slick spots may linger into early Tuesday as colder air settles across the region.
