Minneapolis, MN – Cold temperatures and isolated flurries are expected across the Twin Cities this weekend, with highs struggling to reach the low 20s along Interstate 94 and Interstate 35.

According to the US National Weather Service Twin Cities, conditions will remain mostly dry, though isolated flurries are possible anywhere low clouds develop over the next couple of days.

High temperatures Saturday are forecast near 21 degrees, followed by 18 degrees Sunday and around 19 degrees Monday at Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport. Overnight lows will dip into the single digits and teens.

While widespread snowfall is not expected, brief flurries could create minor slick spots on untreated roads, particularly during early morning and late evening hours.

Drivers along I-94 between Minneapolis and St. Paul, I-35E through downtown corridors, and I-494 around Bloomington should remain alert for patchy icy areas where moisture lingers.

Wind chills may make it feel colder, especially for transit riders and early-shift workers waiting outdoors.

Forecasters are also monitoring snow chances by midweek, though details remain uncertain. Temperatures are expected to gradually warm, with highs climbing into the 30s by Tuesday and mid-40s by Friday.

Despite the cold weekend start, a warming trend is anticipated heading into late next week.

Residents are encouraged to monitor forecast updates for any changes in midweek precipitation chances.
