Marlborough, N.H. – A domestic-related standoff ended in arrest Friday after hours of police response.

According to New Hampshire State Police, troopers were called at 6:02 a.m. Friday to assist the Marlborough Police Department at a home on Mountain Drive involving a man reportedly armed with a handgun.

Earlier that morning, Marlborough officers, along with members of the Jaffrey and Keene police departments, attempted to engage with the man, identified as James Salisbury, 31, of Londonderry. Police said Salisbury allegedly refused contact and barricaded himself inside the residence.

Marlborough officers requested additional assistance from State Police, as well as the Peterborough and Dublin police departments, the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office, Cheshire County Emergency Services, Marlborough Fire Department, and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

State troopers assumed command of the scene. Just after 11:30 a.m., Salisbury surrendered and was taken into custody without incident, according to State Police.

Salisbury has been charged with felony criminal threatening (domestic violence), criminal trespass, and breach of bail. Police said he also had two active warrants. He remains held pending an appearance in Keene District Court on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026.

The hours-long response temporarily drew significant law enforcement presence to the residential neighborhood, an area used by local commuters and nearby students.

No injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
