Wisconsin snow is piling up fast across La Crosse this morning, with thick flakes reducing visibility and wind pushing drifts across open roads. Plows are running, but conditions remain hazardous.

Travel is slippery and deteriorating quickly.

At La Crosse Regional Airport, temperatures sit near 27 degrees with snow and freezing fog. Winds from the north gust to 32 mph, dropping visibility to around one-half mile. According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 9 a.m., with total snow accumulations between 5 and 9 inches across the region.

Snowfall rates may exceed 1 inch per hour at times.

Drivers on I-90, Highway 14, and Highway 35 should expect snow-covered lanes and blowing snow, especially in open stretches. Road conditions can change within a few miles due to a sharp cutoff in heavier bands. Impacts may vary significantly between north and south sides of La Crosse.

Delay travel if possible this morning.

Snow tapers late this morning, then skies gradually brighten. Highs reach the upper 20s before temperatures fall into the lower 20s tonight. Any compacted snow may refreeze, raising the risk of flash freezing after sunset.

Saturday turns partly sunny with a high near 29. Saturday night drops to 15. Sunday brings filtered sun and a high near 24. Monday rebounds to 27 under sunny skies.

By midweek, temperatures climb into the 30s, with upper 30s possible by Thursday. The 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal readings and hints of early spring warmth building late next week.

Five Day Outlook for La Crosse:
Saturday: Partly sunny, high 29.
Sunday: Partly sunny, high 24.
Monday: Sunny, high 27.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high 37.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy, high 34.
