Nebraska streets remain snow-covered and slick across Omaha late this morning as light snow tapers off under a Winter Storm Warning. Temperatures sit near 16 degrees at Eppley Airfield, and visibility has hovered around five miles in light snow and drifting.

Roads remain icy in spots.

The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. central time. According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, additional snowfall up to one inch was possible before daybreak, with lingering blowing and drifting snow continuing through the morning.

Drivers along I-80, I-480, and Highway 75 are encountering packed snow and reduced traction, especially on ramps and untreated side streets. Even minor accumulation becomes dangerous at 16 degrees. Wind chills have dipped below zero at times.

Plan extra time if heading out this morning. Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle if traveling between Nebraska and western Iowa.

Skies gradually clear today with sunshine returning and a high near 28 degrees. Northwest winds remain light but will keep wind chills brisk. Tonight drops to around 14 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Saturday brings decreasing clouds and a high near 30. Sunday turns sunny but colder, with highs near 26 and lows near 4 Sunday night. Any melted snow may refreeze quickly after sunset, creating flash freezing risks.

Early next week trends drier and slightly milder. Highs reach the low 30s Monday and climb toward the 50s by midweek. The 6–10 day outlook signals above-normal temperatures and early signs of spring warmth across the Plains.

Five Day Outlook for Omaha:
Saturday: Mostly sunny, high 30.
Sunday: Sunny, high 26.
Monday: Sunny, high 33.
Tuesday: Partly sunny, high 51.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, high 53.
