Snowflakes will start flying by midafternoon, and roads across Manchester could turn slick before the evening drive home. Temperatures sit near 32 degrees at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport late this morning, cold enough for snow to stick quickly once it begins.

New Hampshire and coastal Maine remain under a Winter Weather Advisory from noon today through 7 a.m. Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray, 3 to 6 inches of snow are expected across interior Rockingham, eastern Hillsborough, and coastal York counties. Snow develops mainly after 3 p.m., then becomes steadier this evening. Forecasters warn of reduced visibility and slippery travel, especially during the evening commute.

Plan for snow-covered stretches on I-93 and Route 101.

Highs reach only the mid-30s today before snow overspreads the region. New snowfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are possible before sunset, with additional accumulation tonight. Roads may become snow-packed quickly as temperatures drop into the lower 20s.

Use caution on bridges and untreated roads. Slow down and allow extra stopping distance.

Saturday brings a 30% chance of lingering snow showers, then partial clearing with highs near 33. Saturday night turns sharply colder, with lows near 15. Sunday looks partly sunny and calmer, with highs near 35. Another chance of snow returns Sunday night into Monday, with highs near 32 Monday.

Flash freezing becomes a concern this time of year when melting refreezes after dark.

By midweek, highs moderate into the mid-30s, and longer-range trends hint at milder air building late next week. Early signs of spring warmth may arrive across southern New Hampshire in the 6–10 day outlook.

Five-Day Outlook for Manchester:

  • Saturday: Chance of snow, high 33.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny, high 35.
  • Monday: Chance of snow, high 32.
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high 33.
